for everyone
I have always dreamed of having a bedroom that resembles that of a hotel. I have been fortunate enough to have checked in and booked a night or two in quite a number of hotels here in our country and a few abroad. Yes, I love hotels!

When I was still single I would even celebrate special occasions like my birthday and New Year’s eve in a hotel. I would check in all by myself and just enjoy the company of “me”. And oh yes, I would enjoy it, tremendously. It would give me a certain kind of high whenever I would step into the luxurious lobby, proceed to the reception area and wait for the hotel crew to hand me the key card to my room.

Now that I’m married with 3 children, I don’t get to check in as much as I want to since times are hard but when our budget affords it, my husband and I still do get memberships to hotels. I was the one who introduced the idea of “checking into hotels” to my husband. My hubby is one very practical guy and at first he resented the idea and would often tell me that it is not at all practical. Well, I have never thought he would, sooner or later, enjoy hotels, too, as much as I do. Our kids would look forward to these rare days that we would book an overnight stay in a hotel.

The first thing that I check out upon opening the door to a hotel room is the bed – how big it is, how soft and comfortable it is. Then, I would check out the bathroom. Here is where my being an O.C. oftentimes comes in handy. I would spend half an hour just checking out the interiors of the bathroom -- the tiles, the tub (if there is one), the shower (if the hot and cold water works), the sink & faucet, (how shiny they are), the toilet (if the flush works), the toiletries, etc. Everything inside the bathroom is big deal to me. And the most important of all, it should be clean. I don’t know why, but it’s the least of my requirements -- that the bathroom is immaculately spotless. This is the very reason why I want to go to The Lighthouse Marina Resort Hotel. The moment I found out all about this luxurious boutique hotel in Subic Free Port, I quickly checked their website and was impressed with what I saw. Their bathroom hotel is definitely one-of-a-kind ! A floor-to-ceiling glass panel just separates the room from the bathroom. You could actually see the person inside the bathroom while you’re lying down on your bed and vice versa. Wow, I would love to experience soaking on that freestanding tub while watching my favorite shows on their big flat screen TV.

I really believe I deserve to be pampered after being confined in our own bedroom for almost a year due to a difficult and risky pregnancy. I was advised “complete bedrest” by my OB-GYNE for the whole duration of my pregnancy because of my two previous experiences of giving birth to our two babies prematurely. So, you see, having a vacation here at The Lighthouse Marina Resort Hotel would be a wonderful treat.

Anyway, I was so amazed with what I read and saw from their website that I immediately told my husband about it and he too was amazed. He asked me, “Dito ba ‘yan sa Philippines?” and then he told me pointblank that from the looks of it, we would not be able to afford it. All I could do was sigh and continue dreaming that I’m in that room and unwinding in that tub.The place looks very modern and hip yet very tasteful. I continued surfing the net for reviews about the resort. Reading the comments and reviews of people who have experienced their kind of service gave me all the more reason why I desire to experience The Lighthouse Resort.

Here are just some of the many comments made on The Lighthouse Marina Resort:

- "Amazing bathroom design. Nice, big LCD TV."   (My husband would love this!)
- "A soak in the tub is to die for."
- "Very sexy bathroom."

- "The food is good and plentiful."
- "Very responsive and polite customer service. Excellent service from everyone."
- "This property was a breath of fresh air. Clean, modern with excellent amenities."
- "I love their special touches: afternoon cocktails, hot chocolate at nighttime, chocolate-dipped fruit with the turndown service."  (Oh wow!)
- "Very new, clean and modern. Stayed in Aqua Veranda room, overlooking the beach. The extra cost to have the view is worth it. The bathroom was amazing. LOVED IT!!!! My two small children had so much fun taking their baths in the "floating tub"."

What makes a resort hotel experience luxurious?

One thing that makes a hotel experience luxurious enough to stand out from the rest is that if the place would give me this sense or feeling of privacy, intimacy and belongingness. It's like "I'm part of the family". I feel important when every hotel staff would greet me by my name each time I walk through the lobby or anywhere else in the hotel. It's such a nice feeling when you know that the hotel staffers go above and beyond to make your stay truly pleasurable, when you're treated well, like a VIP, from the moment you arrive.

More than the great location and modern conveniences that can cater to its guests' every whim like providing the most comfy beds with exquisite linens, a luxurious hotel will never be forgotten for its little touches of personalized and customized service. I consider a hotel experience luxurious when everything simply feels right.

There's this saying that, "People will forget what you said, what you did but they will never forget HOW you made them feel." This saying also holds true when I talk about an experience that is unique and memorable. I, for one, will never forget a place that has made an impact in my life.  Who wouldn't want to go back there?  I know, I would...definitely.
